Loading the SteelPLUS Toolbar Manually

Even though this video shows loading the partial .CUIX file for an individual workstation, it also applies to a single workstation on a network.

If you did not use the Automated Script file to load the toolbar and set the Support Path, you can do that manually. After the server has been configured and you have updated the SoftDraftBundleX64.MNL file. Each AutoCAD workstation must load the SteelPLUS partial customization file (SteelBundle.cuix). This makes the SteelPLUS commands, ribbon panels, menus, and toolbars available within AutoCAD.

Load the SteelPLUS CUIX File

  1. Start AutoCAD.
  2. At the Command prompt, enter:
CUILOAD

Press Enter.

The Load/Unload Customizations dialog box will appear.

  1. Click Browse…
  1. Browse to the shared SteelPLUS Support folder.

For example:

\\ServerName\Programs\SteelPLUS\VR2026\Support\

or

K:\\Programs\SteelPLUS\VR2026\Support\
  1. At the bottom of the dialog, set Files of type to:
Customization Files (*.cui, *.cuix)
  1. Select the following file:
  • SteelBundleX64.cuix 
  1. Click Open.
  1. Click Load.

The SteelPLUS customization file is added to AutoCAD.

  1. Click Close to exit the dialog.

Verify the Installation

After loading the CUIX file, verify that SteelPLUS is available.

Depending on your AutoCAD workspace, you may see:

  • SteelPLUS ribbon tabs
  • SteelPLUS toolbars
  • SteelPLUS menus
  • SteelPLUS commands available at the Command line

If these items are present, the customization file has been loaded successfully.

If SteelPLUS Does Not Appear

If the SteelPLUS ribbon, menus, or toolbars are not visible:

  • Please verify that the correct CUIX file was loaded.
  • Confirm the workstation can access the shared network folder.
  • Verify the STEELBUNDLEX64.MNL file points to the correct network location.
  • Restart AutoCAD after loading the CUIX file.
  • Ensure an older version of SteelPLUS is not already loaded.
