Step 1 – Download the Installation Package

After purchasing the Steel2K-LT App, you will receive an email containing a download link for your software.

Click the download link and save the .ZIP installation package to a convenient location on your computer, such as your Downloads folder or Desktop.

Tip: Keep the downloaded .ZIP file in case you need to reinstall the software in the future.

Step 2 – Close AutoCAD

Before installing the Steel2K-LT App, make sure AutoCAD is completely closed.

Closing AutoCAD before installation ensures that all required files can be installed correctly.

Step 3 – Extract the ZIP File

Locate the downloaded .ZIP file.

Right-click the ZIP file and choose Extract All…, or use your preferred .ZIP utility to extract the contents into a new folder.

After extraction, you’ll see the SteelPLUS Bundle installation file.

Step 4 – Run the Installer

To install the software, double-click the .EXE file. The name of the file will be different depending on which version of the software you purchased

STEEL2K-LT.exe

to launch the Steel2K-LT installation program.

If Windows displays a security prompt, click Yes or Run Anyway to continue.

Administrator privileges may be required.

Step 5 – Complete the Installation

Follow the prompts in the installation wizard.

The installer will automatically copy the required files to the appropriate SoftDraft Application folder similar to this one:

C:Program Files (x86)SoftDraftAutoCADLTSteel2K2D

That’s it! The installer places all required files in the correct locations, so no manual file copying or configuration is necessary.

Restart AutoCAD to Load the Toolbars

After installation is complete:

✓ Steel2K2D-LT has been copied to the SoftDraft LT Application folder.

✓ Restart AutoCAD to load the toolbars into AutoCAD LT using the script file.

✓ After the software is loaded into AutoCAD LT, the application is now ready for activation.

After installation, to load the toolbar in AutoCAD at the command line type:

Command: Script <enter>
Use the browse button to locate the following folder based on the version you installed:
C:Program Files (x86)SoftDraftAutoCADLTSteel2K2D

Select file: Steel2K2D-LT.scr, then click “Open”

You should now see the Steel2K2D-LT Ribbon Panel as shown below. If you do not see the toolbar, look at the bottom left of the drawing editor.
